the role
Head photographer within the studio. Responsible for the quality and style of the studios photographic output.
Responsible for ensuring the photographic team are achieving their training/development targets.
Communication link between studio and Regional Art Director.
Must have achieved Diploma status.
skills/experience/qualifications
1 TRAINING
1.1 Responsible for the training needs of all photographers within the
studio.
1.2 Be aware of where their photographers are with their training and
communicate with the Photographic admin team at HO as necessary
1.3 Be aware of any training dates that their staff are due to attend, ensure
attendance and plan accordingly
1.4 Be responsible for their own CPD
1.5 Ensure the training schedule of trainee photographers is met
1.6 Ensure trainee photographers are accompanied on sessions
1.7 Assist photographers in attaining PDipP
1.8 Organise / deliver relevant training
2 STYLE DEVELOPMENT
2.1 Represent their studio at the Regional Art Director meetings and
feedback information from the regional to the rest of the photographic
team.
2.2 Organise the team in participating in the bi-annual Venture
photographic awards and the regular submission of work to the
Regional Art Director meetings
2.3 Hold regular studio meetings to discuss photographic style of studios
output.
3 QUALITY CONTROL
3.1 Ensure the output of the studio is to the Venture standard
3.2 Take ownership of the quality data from HO
3.3 Chair weekly meetings to discuss quality of studio’s ouput and
mark work against matrix.
personal attributes
* Excellent communication. Training skills. Highly motivated and ability to enthuse a team. Ability to work to deadlines. Good understanding of the importance of sales.
* Venture Diploma (licence to Practice). Intermediate Digital Diploma.
* 18 months in the Venture business. Minimum of 500 sessions shot. Achieves a minimum of the Studio AVO (photographer)
* Outgoing, enthusiastic, passionate together with a positive outlook. Proactive and organised team leader who is results focused. Articulate and understanding.
* Smart, clean, stylish and professional.
* Flexible hours to include some evenings and weekends. 40 hours/week although it is expected that all reasonable tasks will be completed within the normal working week.
